The 100[]

He risked himself and the Eden tree in order to get in the same ship as Clarke Griffin, who was at the time, the girl he loved. Once on Earth, his relationship with Clarke changed especially after he withheld her from saving Thalia, Clarke's best friend, in a fire. He assumed a leadership position along with Graham, the two didn't get along, as they had different ideas on how to run things. He grew jealous of Bellamy a number of times on account of the amount of time he and Clarke spent together.

Personality[]

From a young age the Chancellor instilled in Wells that leaders don't promise something and go back on their word. Wells is firmly loyal and cares deeply about the people he loves.

Despite initial pushback from the 100, Wells continued to help lead the group to ensure their survival on Earth.

First Meeting

While living on the Colony Wells dated Clarke Griffin for a time. They first met when Wells' mother was sick and he sought out comfort in the Phoenician library. Wells had been pondering reading a book he had started with his mother before Clarke suggests he sneak the book out of the library and take it to the hospital. They reintroduce themselves and it is implied Clarke sneaks the book out of the library for him.[2]

Life on the Colony

At one of the Colony's annual concerts Wells compared a piece by Bach to what he imagined a sunset to look like. He tells Clarke he would love to watch a sunset with her some day, and asks what she would be doing in 75 years. Clarke responds with a joke, telling him she'd be cleaning her dentures, to which Wells responds that he has an idea for their first date.[3]

Becoming one of The 100

After finding out that Clarke was amongst the 100 Confined children being sent to Earth, Wells devised a plan to very publicly light the Eden tree on fire during the Remembrance Ceremony and get himself sent to Confinement so he could be sent down with her. His father, the Chancellor, told Wells the only way he could get the council to spare Wells' life was by sending him down to Earth instead, which is what he had hoped for.[4]

Sasha Walgrove[]

Later, Wells fell in love with Earthborn Sasha Walgrove, who had been taken prisoner by the 100. They remained together until her death.
