This morning you told me my daughter was going blind. That there was nothing I could do to help. Turns out there is.
— Tor Lemkin to Abigail Griffin. [src]

Tor and Reese Lemkin were father and daughter characters in the first season. Tor was portrayed by Mac Brandt and Reese was played by Lilah Fitzgerald and they debuted in Twilight's Last Gleaming.

Tor was a citizen of the Ark and the father of the partially blind Reese. In Twilight's Last Gleaming, he, along with 319 other people, sacrificed himself in the Culling in order to save oxygen, allowing the engineers to have more time to fix the problem with life support. He died of suffocation after the air in the section he was in is stopped.

Early LifeEdit

Tor is Reese's father. It is implied that Tor's wife is dead, meaning that Tor is Reese's only parent.

Throughout the Series Edit

In Twilight's Last Gleaming, Reese receives an eye examination from Abby who tells Tor that Reese's eyesight is worse than ever before, due to oxygen deprivation. Tor is concerned about the life support failure, asking Abby if it will be able to be fixed. Abby doesn't tell him it can be fixed or cannot be fixed, she just says that she hopes it can be. Tor later volunteers for The Culling, telling Reese that he is taking the late shift. She acts annoyed and disconnected with him, upset that he won't be home. Tor says one last goodbye to Reese before leaving to sacrifice himself so that citizens of the Ark have more oxygen left, giving engineers more time to fix the problem.

Physical Appearance Edit

Tor has thinning red hair and is slightly larger than average. He also has a full red beard and mustache. He resembles his daughter.

Reese has long wavy brownish red hair that often falls on her face and dark brown eyes. She is of average height and size for a nine-year-old girl. Reese is blind in her left eye due to chronic oxygen deficiency.

Personality Edit

Tor Lemkin is a generous and selfless person. In "Twilight's Last Gleaming", oxygen deprivation in the Ark is causing his daughter's eyesight to fail at an alarming rate. In order to conserve oxygen, he volunteers to die. He disagrees with some of the Council's methods and cares very deeply for his daughter.

Reese is a slightly sassy nine-year-old girl. According to her father, this is a sort of inner defense or barrier from her real feelings. She is slightly sarcastic towards her father, not always appreciative of his actions. Tor cares deeply for Reese, willing to die and save oxygen for her survival.

Reese is slightly rude and ignorant of Tor's affections, although she still displays that she loves him. A common habit between the two is Tor telling Reese to put her hair back, so he can see her eyes, but Reese dislikes him doing this.

Relationships Edit

Abigail Griffin Edit

Abby and Tor seem to know each other and have a strong doctor-patient relationship. While he does not seem to like the Council, he understands that Abby is trying her best to help everyone and remain friends until his death.
