  • First off I want to say this episode was great and one of the best. Whoever I feel if they changed a few things it could have been better, and more impactful.

First I feel they should have replaced Roan with Echo, and switched Fio with Indra. Have Luna be the main antagonist, but make Echo the secondary antagonist.

When the conclave starts have Octavia run and hide, but look and see Echo kill a random grounder just like how Roan killed Fio. While Octavia watches Echo kill someone have a grounder catch her off guard, but Indra saves her. While retreating have llian run into them and join their alliance.

After have Octavia lead the way, but accidentally run into the other alliance like on the show. After the other alliance is killed, have Echo appear from the shadows and aim her arrow at Octavia, but no one sees her. At the last minute have indra sees her and push Octavia out of the way taking the arrow to the stomach. Enraged Octavia attacks Echo, and the two have a rematch of their battle earlier this season. In the end Octavia kills Echo, and has a tearful goodbye to indra before mercy killing her. In my opinion indra's death would have been honorable, more emotional, and more impactful. Llian's death wasn't really emotional, and indra would have been more impactful since she has been around since season 2. Also their friendship enough would be more emotional and impactful.

During the final battle with Luna have her fight llian and Octavia like how she fought Octavia and Roan. Have the black rain hit, but when it does Luna uses it to attack the distracted Octavia and llian. Llian saves Octavia but Luna breaks one of his legs. Octavia tries to help carry him to safety, but as they reach safely he slips and falls. knowing he's going to die no mater what he uses the last of his strength to push Octavia inside and shut the door. Octavia watches as he looks up to see Luna, he tells her to do her worse or something to that extent. Octavia then watches as Luna says something else ominous and then kills llian by bringing her mele weapon down and crushing llian's skull.

The rest of the conclave plays out the same way as it did on the show with Octavia killing Luna like she did no changes.

The episode was still great, but indra dying would have been more impactful and emotional in my opinion. Also I feel we should have gotten an Octavia Echo rematch, which now will most likely never happen. Finally I'd give llian a better death, saving her life in the end in contrast to almost killing her when they first meet. I still like how the conclave played out, but I feel this way it could have been a tad better.

    • While I kind of agree about Indra, replacing Roan with Echo wouldn't have been logical in my opinion, mainly from Roan's point of view. Roan was way too confident and proud to let anyone else fight for his clan. I think that he felt that it was his resbonsibility alone to save his people, instead of being "a coward" and stay away from the fight. On top of all that, I don't think he trusts anyone other than himself enough to let somebody else fight for him. So I think that it was very in-character for him to fight.

As for Indra, I agree that it would have been a lot more impactful for Octavia and the audience, if Indra died, but we don't know anything about Fio or how good he was compared to Indra or other Trikru warriors. Of course we can assume that Indra is experienced warrior, because she is the chief, but Fio could have been one of the best warriors of their clan or even better than Indra. Maybe we get an explanation on this later, who knows.

Yeah logically It makes since for Roan to fight. He fought for the same reason Lexa thought him last season. I just kind of wish we got an Octavia Echo rematch where Octavia kills Echo.

The fact that we know nex to nothing about Fio, is an issue I have with him in the conclave. In the inside the episode behind the scenes Jason said Octavia would be facing grounder chiefs, which made me think indra was going to die. Finally to have such a minor character like Fio represent Trikru a clan since we've known since season 1 was silly I feel a big death like indra would have been great for the episode. I do like indra though so I'm glad she ended up living.

It sounds pretty crazy at first but just hear me out.

In an episode full of 'wtf' moments, this would be the ultimate, and one that I don't think anyone could have seen coming, plus I feel it would have done a lot more justice to Luna's character. It really would have shown how determined she is to see the end of humanity, and with the quality of acting Nadia had exhibited until then, I feel there would have been a great possibility to get an insight into what Luna's character really is, as her's is in my opinion by far the most complex on the show, and I don't think her motives for competing in the conclave were explained well enough in the episode.  I love Octavia, but looking to the future I'm not sure how much more they can develop her character, given the direction the others are already taking

Finally, I can totally understand why the writers ended the episode the way they did, with Octavia honouring Lincoln and preaching the 'one clan' mantra, but just think of how much more depth this alternate ending would give Clarke's decision to take the bunker before the conclave was over?

The writers have shown in the past that they are not afraid to take risks, and this episode was definitely the best one so far, but part of me just feels like they took the 'easier' way out with the ending, and I feel Octavia and Luna dying together could have made for a really beautiful scene, with Octavia realising her failure, and Luna realising she is just as human as everyone else, but this is just my opinion

I strongly disagree that Octavia should not have died that way. I've been saying for a while one of the Blake siblings should die, but not that way. Given how many characters have recently died I feel Octavia dying would be overkill. I totally agree though that she has gotten too much development. I feel next season they should put her in the backseat, and give other characters like Murphy and Monty more development since they've had very little development. I'm not saying don't show her, but just have her around like Murphy and Monty have been.
