So I wanted to know what other people thought about the second dawn. I think there is more in that bunker than we saw, over 1 billion dollars ws probably invested in building something to ride out the radiation. I think that the people Becca met when she came to Earth from polaris was either the second dawn or the mountain men, something is missing in this story. What do you duys think.
So my entire theory is that the Second dawn/Bill made that one bunker to put his followers in but took all of the money they gave him and either invested it in the new location in the credits or built something underneath that worked. There, Bill and his highest paying followers and friends either cryogenically preserved themselves to wait out the radiation and awaken to the second dawn or they have being living down there for the past 100 years like the mountain men. We learnt in the second season that grounders survived because of a mutation in their genes, what if the second dawn were some of the original grounders or were in contact with Becca when she landed? We know that Becca was also experimenting on people genetically, maybe this is how the grounders were able to survive the level of radiation that currently occupies the earth, I mean we haven't heard of grounders in any other locations except the east coast. In addition to this the genetic mutations that people like Emori have could be a side effect of what Becca did, hence why some of the animals were like that in season 1 and 2. I agree with the poster though, there is definitely something more to the second dawn. Why would the writers introduce a new hope for survival then just strip it away, plus there has been multiple mentions of the second dawn since episode 2. Why would they constantly mention it and why would Thlonious still have the XI seal if the idea of another bunker was redundant. Im not saying we'll see the second dawn in this half of the season because of the significance of nightblood, but I think they will certainly appear at some stage what do you all think?
As the bunker was situated beneath Polis, the people occuring when Bekka Pramheda landed with hazmat suits most likely were members of the Second Dawn. As mentioned in season four, there was definitely a reason to why "From the ashes we will rise." became a sort of grounder prayor, as the Mountain Men didn't really have any specific sort of relation with them, it would be highly unlikely that they transitioned the motto. Also, as you said that we haven't heard of any other grounder location than the east coast, we actually have. The first episode of fourth season showed two people walking in a desert, in Egypt, as pyramids were seen, unless they would have been built in the United States' east coast sometime between the years of 2014-2052.
