Are people still crying about their deaths? It's been like a year since they died! And plus they are not even real.
I only began watching the show recently and the whole show is fictional not just these specific characters. People come on here to discuss everything not just the current season and id rather not be attacked for wanting to discuss something im only seeing now.You dont have to have watched the show for a long time to be a fan or enjoy it.
I have my issues with Lexa's and Lincoln's respective deaths last season but I'm going to disagree and say Lexa's death was indeed necessary for the plot. They needed her to die in order to open up the whole plot with the flame being ALIE 2.0. While I definitely agree her death lacked the agency it should have had (and they did kill her off in following a really really awful trope) I don't think her death was unecessary. And I don't think it had anything to do with pushing forward to the Bellamy/Clarke relationship.
They foreshadowed Lexa's inevitable death a lot even from the very beginning she was always talking about her death. Or in Bitter Harvest, the episode before she died how she had a dream where she warned if she kept going with blood must not have blood she would die. Though I agree it was handled pretty badly.
With Lincoln's death, I personally agree it wasn't necessary and I am not happy with Octavia's murder murder storyline (because it goes exactly against what Lincoln would've wanted for her) but I'm still trying to keep an open mind for where they take her character. Super physked that the show is finally acknowledging her actions as wrong rather than letting them pass as usual.
if anyone wants to.....

Thanks so much for this post. I never considered that fact about her death being needed for the storyline to follow through. Do you think they might try to make Octavia have another relationship soon becase apparently her and Ilian are meant to get pretty close in the upcoming episodes/season.
Based on an interview done by Marie Avgeropoulous who portrays Octavia she indicated Octavia is going to have a relationship with a male character and I definitely wouldn't be surprised if that was Illian. But she also commented that Octavia would never quite be able to open her heart the same way. I'm personally not 100% sure how I feel about it considering I think Octavia needs to grieve and actually process her grief and I fear having her in another romantic storyline will be a way for her character to sort of ignore and suppress that grief. But we'll see where the writers take it, I've been enjoying season 4 much more overall and I'm trying to keep an open mind.
