Hi, I see you undid my edit regarding the tenses on Finn's page, which is fine I just have a small question regarding it. With many of the other pages including Lexa, Lincoln, and Maya the lead is written in the past tense so I'm a tad curious why we wouldn't do the same for Finn, since he like those character was alive but is now deceased.
From our Style Guide: "If a character dies in the show, the tense does not need to be retroactively changed
Can you clarify this point?
The Style Guide also states, that we should use "past tense when referring to Deceased Character articles". Does that mean that articles tense should be determined by the character initial status (dead or alive)? So for example will you be undoing past tense contributions to Finn because he used to be alive?
IMO this seem to have a lot of potential for confusion and messing up the articles. Maybe the articles don't need to be updated, but the could be if Amethystkitten is willing to review\update them whole?
The confusion occurs when people make edits without reading the Style Guide. Pre-deceased characters are written in past tense since they only appear in flashbacks. Characters who appear alive in episodes are written in present tense. Just because a character dies does not mean they weren't alive during those episodes and/or events. That doesn't change and nor should the page. If you have a problem with it, then bring it up in the Suggestions forum.
