There! There! There! I think I got him, lets go.
— Derek. [src]

Derek was a minor character in the first season. He was one of the Delinquents sent down to Earth to see if it could support human life. In "I Am Become Death", Derek succumbed to a virus that spread through the camp and died.

Early life[]

Sometime while living on the Ark, Derek was arrested for an unknown crime and sent to juvenile lockup.

Throughout the Series[]

In I Am Become Death, Derek is seen on guard duty during the night alongside Connor. When a rustling noise is heard in the nearby bushes, Derek fires his gun and believes he hit the target. With the help of Connor and Octavia they exit the camp gates and discover a severely injured and ill John Murphy lying on the ground. Derek is shocked to see Murphy.

The next day, a virus spreads through the camp and Derek is one of the first delinquents to become ill. He is quarantined in the dropship and eventually succumbs to the virus, falling over dead.

Personality[]

Derek's personality was not developed on due to his short time on the show.

Physical Appearance[]

Derek had medium-length red hair and dark brown eyes. He also had a slender build. Like most of the 100, he wore patched, tattered, and torn clothing. He also wore a black beanie.

Relationships[]

Connor[]

Derek and Connor have a friendly relationship. They trust each other enough to go see who Derek shot outside the wall of the Delinquents' Camp. Connor seemed shocked and sad when he witnessed Derek dying from the virus.

Bellamy Blake[]

Bellamy seemed to trust Derek with being a gunner and trusted him talking about shooting Murphy outside of camp.
